The department of manufacturing and production engineering is an innovative research and education department at Aalborg University, Denmark, with about 120 employees. The mission of the department is to generate knowledge related to industrial production, and to disseminate this knowledge for the benefit of society, industry and students. Knowledge building is based on strategic and applied research with a generic nature.
The profile of the department is highly interdisciplinary and contain elements such as production, materials science, logistics, IT, organisation, product development, automation, mechanics and management. The department has the disposal of several laboratories with modern equipment within the areas of robotics, cutting operations, welding, computer integrated manufacturing, plastics, testing and characterisation of materials, including polymers, metal, ceramics and microcellular and much more.

Aalborg Universitet will lead the work package on Flexible robot programming, and will be the main responsible for the implementation of Skill-related topics (all of WP4); T3.4, where the movement-primitives are defined using P’n’P; where the Advanced Plant Model (APM) provides knowledge to the skills; T5.3 concerning vertical integration of the skill-based robots into the MES/AFM.
