Fraunhofer IPA

Fraunhofer IPA

Fraunhofer is Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization with over 60 research institutes that are active in various research fields such as health, security, communication, energy and the environment. Fraunhofer is participating with the Fraunhofer Insitute für Produktionstechnik und Automatisierung (IPA) in this project.
Fraunhofer IPA has more than 20 years of experience with IT systems for production environments, in particular with Manufacturing Executions Systems (MES) and the integration of production equipment.

Furthermore Fraunhofer IPA has been a pioneer in both industrial and service-robot application and development. Personal robots as well as assistive systems for interactive human-machine-task execution both at workplaces and in public environments stand out as current research topics. The institute covers both robot systems design and research in
critical robot key technologies such sensor data processing, control and man-machine-interaction with some 50 scientists and engineers.
